We are proud of the difference our work makes in the lives of students and those who care about them. Go ahead…sneak a peak over our shoulders and read some of the kind words we’ve gotten from:

Our Consulting Clients

I look forward to working with you to determine how to best meet the needs of Jacob. I can already say the little bit of intervention that I have provided with your strategies has been effective. We used the multi-syllable word 4 questions to read the word ‘extinction’ and his mom reported he came home very proud of himself!

Thank you! I have learned so much through working with you and this has been invaluable to my teaching. I appreciate it! As always, thanks for being a terrific coach!

Yesterday we were MAP testing. Two of our 5th graders had questions that asked “What is the proper way to break this word into syllables?” Both students put their hands to their lips and whale-talked the words. It was great to see them apply the strategies unprompted and in a new environment!

I don’t think I’ve ever asked the Readsters team a question they couldn’t answer. Wish y’all would open a branch office in the Magnolia State.

I would like to express my appreciation on behalf of the students and teachers at my school who have received the benefit of your knowledge and insight into the teaching and remediation of reading. It is a pleasure for me to see the energy and enthusiasm generated by your presentations. The teachers attending, new and experienced, gave your presentation high compliments for what they describe as strategies that hold the promise of improving the reading skills of all students including those students who have proven most difficult to reach. Thank you. I am looking forward to your continued association with our school.

The past three days have been three of the best and most productive days I have ever spent with a consultant. I must begin by telling you that at 7:00 Wednesday morning, I asked myself, “What are we going to do for three days?” By 8:30 that same morning, I asked myself “How are we going to finish all that I want to learn in 3 days!” I knew I had to dig a little deeper, I just wasn’t sure exactly where to dig. In a matter of a few hours, not only did I learn where to dig, the information had spread to my team of interventionists and they couldn’t wait to get a hand on some shovels and dig with us.

I just wanted to thank you again for all you’ve done, not just in terms of curriculum development but in terms of the warmth and enthusiasm that you’ve brought to our school It is no secret that everyone here adores you. I have just been working on the documents that you created for first grade and starting to put all the pieces together. Your framework provided me with such clarity and I am so excited to use this to teach this year. I have been in the classroom for six years and have used various programs and activities but this makes such perfect sense and I wanted to be sure and thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love it when you come, not just because you are brilliant but because your enthusiasm is contagious, not to mention you have incredible taste in food 🙂 Thanks for all you’ve done and for how much easier you’ve made my job, and thank you in advance for all the future trainings that I know I will soak up like sunshine.

You did a great job today!! Everyone learned a lot. I really really enjoy working with you. Working with the students today really was powerful. Our students did great. I was very proud of them. Looking forward to tomorrow. I always learn a lot with you. I really can see this working with our students. They are the winners because you came into our lives. You do indeed have a special gift. You are changing students’ lives. Thanks so much!!

Just wanted you to know that I’ve been faithfully practicing all my new skills, especially, the Phonemic Awareness with the second and third graders. What really surprised me is that the 3rd graders came in begging to do “that stuff the lady taught us.” They are really into the motions, even. I never figured they’d go for it, but am grateful that they have picked up on it really fast. I loved, loved, loved y’all’s visit and learned so much (yes, you can teach an old dog…). Hope you’ll come back and see us soon.

Our Conferences and Workshop Participants

I thoroughly enjoyed your conference. Thank you! I was re-energized by your presentation.

I was very pleased to meet you and sit in your awesome informational sessions. I would love to use the materials you shared in my classrooms.

Seriously, as a thirty-three year veteran teacher, I didn’t think there was much I could still learn about teaching students to read. WRONG!! Within the first five minutes of your workshop, I watched you perform your magic and truly wished that I could go back and start teaching all over again. I kept asking myself why I hadn’t thought of that. A little learning is definitely a dangerous thing.
N.A., Curriculum Coordinator

I attended your very interesting presentation yesterday at Region IV in Houston. I really enjoyed how you differentiated phonological awareness activities from print awareness activities. I never realized how confusing and taxing that must be to students who struggle with working memory issues and sequencing of sound. I also loved the multi-sensory component you added to the sounds by pantomiming the sounds. My teachers and their students with dyslexia will really gain from this addition. I will certainly change and enrich how I teach thanks to you. Bless you for the life-changing work you are doing for our struggling readers.

I was in your 2nd session on Saturday. It was ABSOLUTELY awesome and enlightening. My colleague was in your 1st session and he said the same thing.

Just wanted to let you know that your “Readsters” simulation was a hit! All the teachers left the presentation with a new understanding and empathy for the dyslexic student. So many said they didn’t realize: 1) how hard it was to sound out words letter by letter, 2) how much it impacted all their content areas as they got further on in school, and 3) how, even at 90% accuracy comprehension could be so impacted. If we’ve just given one student a little more empathy, I’m thrilled! Please keep up the important work you’re doing.

Awesome workshop!! Thank you. Can’t wait to share this information with my students.

I just wanted to send you a quick email with a success story. I used your way of introducing new words [Vocabulary Workshop] to our students yesterday with the word prediction and every one of them could spell it frontwards and backwards. Students loved it and enjoyed learning the new word. It was pretty cool. The kids were literally begging for more today!

I enjoyed your sessions soooo much and will implement what I learned immediately. I requested you back on our survey, there is so much more I want to learn from you. I also enjoyed you so much because you made it fun and interesting.

Because you are the Accuracy Queen, and because I have learned so much about accuracy from you, I want to share the end-of-year accuracy and WCPM data for one of my schools. They are a grade 2 and 3 school, with 175 students per grade level. Approximately 80% of the students are Hispanic/Latino. This school has never had such strong results for ORF scores. Teacher, parents, and students are thrilled.

I appreciated learning how to find out what to teach students to fix problems in reading. Thank you for a very valuable workshop! I’d love more of your workshops!

I loved this workshop. I have never known how to teach syllabication in a way for K-1 to understand. I am now empowered! I have taught Phonemic Awareness to professionals for years but your presentation gave it a new and more meaningful, understandable twist.

Very interesting workshop. It answered a lot of my questions! Hopefully I will be a better speller.

I wanted to thank you for the time you took to work with my daughter. Thank you for the thoroughness and promptness of your report and the concrete suggestions given after your meeting with her. We will be starting on your word lists and oral tracking. I am hopeful that by working every day as you recommended, she will be better prepared for middle school.
C.M., Parent

My daughter wants to work with you again because she had so much fun, not because she needs the help. When she started working with you she was a reluctant reader. After working with you she was more willing to sound out new words. Her confidence really improved. She took standardized tests in September and her reading scores were above average, so your support really strengthened her reading skills. Thank you for working with my daughter.

How can I thank you for taking the time out of your incredibly busy schedule to work with my daughter? You are a saint and there is no way we can express our appreciation for all that you do and who you are.

Thank you so much for helping me. I can do so much now. Like I can say, spell and read malignant “finally.” I can understand a lot more words in books, paper, notes, and so much more now.
